– New for 2006 is the Model 870
Modular Combat Shotgun with Collapsible Stock (MCS-CS) – an
enhanced version of the combat proven and time honored Model
870. The newest model of the MCS family provides the versatility
of a M4®-style collapsible stock for situations and environments
where an adjustable stock is required. The familiarity of the
M4-style stock ensures that the transition from a M4 carbine to
the Model 870 MCS-CS is seamless.
Chambered in 12-gauge, the Model 870 MCS-CS handles 2 ¾ and
3-inch magnum loads and multiple ammunition types including
breaching rounds, buckshot and slugs. Like the standard Modular
Combat Shotgun system, the new Model 870 MCS-CS has top-mounted
Picatinny rail; three versatile barrel options including 10-inch
with Fixed Cylinder choke and 14-inch and 18-inch both with
interchangeable Rem™ Choke Tubes (supplied with Improved
Cylinder, Modified, Full and Rifled); two extended magazine
tubes (2 and 3-shot capacity) with corresponding magazine
springs; pistol grip and collapsible (M4-style) stock featuring
the patented REM LOC Quick-Change Stock System; soft side saddle
system; and cleaning kit. The MCS-CS comes packaged in a hard
case with optional soft carry case.
The extreme modularity and greatly enhanced capabilities of the
870 MCS-CS is unparalleled in combat shotguns as the gun can be
converted from a stand alone 10-inch breaching tool to a full
18-inch primary combat shotgun by the operator in less than two
minutes without the use of tools. With the optional Rail
Accessory System, the 10-inch breacher tool or 14-inch entry gun
sans stock or pistol grip can be mounted to either a M4 carbine
or M16® rifle to provide a duplex system capable of delivering
lethal and less lethal firepower.
