Q:
What are the differences between the 700P
and the 700 Varmint rifles?
A: The 700P rifles are parkerized versus either
stainless or bluing on the 700VS. The stock on the
700P rifle is the HS Precision tactical stock
versus a slim sporting version on the 700VS. The 700P
rifle is built more to the nature of its
purpose; it is known to shoot 1 MOA or less right out of the
box. The 700P rifles come standard with an
additional stud for use with a bipod.

Q:
What are the differences between the 870P
and 870 Express Shotguns?
A: The 870P shotguns are built with features that
have its purpose of duty in mind. The 870P comes
standard with the parkerized finish, both front
and rear studs and the short fore-end for use in car
lock systems. There are many variations of the
870P shotgun to choose from. Examples are:
•
Sight configuration and style; some include magazine
extensions.
•
A choice of barrel lengths.
• Heavier sear spring.
•
A choice of several stock options.
• The 870P synthetics have the more
robust Speedfeed® stock and fore-end than Express
synthetic.
• The 870P
comes equipped with the high performance R3™ recoil pad.
• The 870P has
solid aluminum trigger housing.
• The 870P is
not equipped with the ISS.
The 870 Express will not allow the addition of
the magazine extension and the fore-end is not
compatible with most car lock systems.

|
Q: What is the difference between the
metal finish on the sporting goods guns
and police guns?
A: A standard "blue" finish is offered in both
lines, however, the "matte" finish on the sporting goods
guns is a bead blast bluing. The "matte" finish
on the police guns is a parkerization process.
Parkerization is 60% more durable than bead blast
bluing.

|
Q: I received my
870P and began to give it an initial cleaning. Rust came off the
barrel and receiver. Why did the gun come to me
rusted?
A: It was not rust, it was cosmoline. Because we do
not know if the guns will be stored for a long
period of time in a warehouse or put in a
shipping container and shipped out of the country,
Remington sprays a film of cosmoline over the
inside and outside of the firearms to protect them
from the elements when stored. That is one reason
why it is so important to totally clean and
lubricate your firearm before using. It is not
good to just take it out of the box and begin shooting
it or carrying it on duty.

|
Q: Where are the
Military firearms and ammunition made?
A: All Remington Military firearms are made in
Ilion, New York - All Remington Ammunition is made
in Lonoke, Arkansas.
