Golden Saber Bonded is the ultimate extension of our
revolutionary Golden Saber HPJ bullet concept. Through an
exclusive Remington process, the lead core is hot-bonded to
the brass jacket. The result is exceptional weight retention
- up to 97% when fire through automobile glass - while
maintaining phenomenal terminal performance when shot
through heavy clothing or into bare gelatin. And the bonding
process does not cause a reduction in accuracy performance -
jacket and core concentricity and resulting gyroscopic
balance has been maintained to deliver match-grade accuracy.
Unlike competitive
bonded handgun bullets, expansion, penetration, weight retention performance
when fired through barriers such as wallboard and plywood has actually been
improved. The unique design and bonding process also produces a bullet that
requires less energy to initiate expansion. At the same time, the jacket
stiffness and wall thickness is designed to eliminate over-expansion, thus
maximizing penetration. These ultra-high performance characteristics make
Golden Saber and Golden Saber Bonded ideal for overall law enforcement applications.

The
sequence of high speed photography above shows the superior performance
of Golden Saber HPJ Bonded bullets through automobile glass. In
frame 1, the 230-gr., .45 caliber Golden Saber Bonded bullet impacts
typical automobile winshield glass (the glass is not visible as
a sheet because it is lit to be able to see the approaching bullet
through it). To represent a shot taken from the left front quarter
of a vehicle, the glass is set at an angle of 45° to horizontal
and the center line of the gun bore is offset 15° to the side.
In frames 2-4, the Golden Saber passes through the windshield and,
in frame 5, emerges from the glass intact. Jacket and core have
held together through the stress of penetrating ASI 1/4 inch laminated
safety glass.

This
block of gelatin was placed 10" beyond the auto glass setup shown
above to catch the bullet after passing through the windshield. It
clearly shows that after smashing through safety glass, the .45 caliber
Golden Saber Bonded sill delivers a large-volume stretch cavity with
over 12" of penetration. |

Golden
Saber HPJ Bonded bullets have the same industry-exclusive Driving
Band profile that centers the bullet perfectly in the bore as it moves
into the rifling. This results in match-grade accuracy and higher
velocity conservation. |
